It's almost Valentine's Day and I've been making some little treat bags. The bird is from a hand carved eraser stamp.

Tag Collage Challenge
I am so behind on posting my tags! So here are 2 for this week.
First is Tag 8, a Love themed tag that was intended for Valentine's Day. I used a vintage postcard to make a tag and then added a Japanese washi paper heart, the word "Love" stamped on an antique document and a cute red vintage label with XO.
Last weekend, I exhibited at a paper show and purchased some cool tags from one of the other vendors, A Stamp in the Hand. (I would link but their website is down). The tags are made to look like old postcard backs and are larger than my usual hang tags. For Tag 9, I used some vintage wallpaper, a fortune from a fortune cookie, a print of a bird and an old postage stamp with a kiwi bird from New Zealand.

Valentine's Day Collage
My collage for week 7 is Valentine's Day inspired, of course. The collage is done on an antique red book cover. It combines handmade and vintage papers with rubber stamps. I never want to cut up an old book to use it for collaging, but if the book is already falling apart I do take advantage.

New Valentine Cards
I created two new Valentine cards this year. The first one is letterpress printed from calligraphy I did a few years ago. It's printed on a nice pearlescent paper.
The second card is printed from vintage wood letterpress type. I was trying to get away from having every Valentine's card red and pink so I printed this one in red and aqua. I've always liked this color combination. It's blank inside so could be used for other occasions.
Both cards are available in my Etsy shop.

Valentine Love Birds
This was one of the designs that I was going to use in my 2013 calendar but I ended up with something else for February. I carved it anyway and made note cards, which will be available in my shop. Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day
I have a few new items for Valentine's Day. All are letterpress printed. The "Hello Love" card was done with my collection of wood type and the "Owl Love" from hand cut linoleum blocks. They're available in my shop here.

Love is in the Air
It's almost Valentine's Day! I have for you today, "The Fireside Book of Love Songs" with pictures by my favorite illustrator duo of Alice and Martin Provensen. The book was published in 1954 and has some great full color as well as 2 color illustrations. And some are pretty racy for 1954!
Hope you have a good day with your sweetie!
