Here are some of my favorite covers from my collection of (mainly) children's books. They include illustrations by Alice and Martin Provensen (The Little Fat Policeman), German illustrator Janosch (The Yellow Auto Named Ferdinand), Mary Blair (I Can Fly), Ezra Jack Keats (The Snowy Day), Art Seiden (Never Pat A Bear), and Swedish illustrator Ylva Kalstrom (The Old Man and the Bird).

Love is in the Air
It's almost Valentine's Day! I have for you today, "The Fireside Book of Love Songs" with pictures by my favorite illustrator duo of Alice and Martin Provensen. The book was published in 1954 and has some great full color as well as 2 color illustrations. And some are pretty racy for 1954!
Hope you have a good day with your sweetie!

Happy Halloween
It's Hallowwen, when all good children dress up as ghoulies, ghosts and princesses. I thought this illustration by Martin and Alice Provensen was perfect for the day. It's from "The Provensen Book of Fairy Tales" and the story is "The Last Half Hour" by Henry Beston.
