2022 Collage Project

Way back in 2007, before I was addicted to vintage papers, I purchased this calendar.

I loved the way it looked like a vintage ledger (so maybe I was addicted back then and didn't know it).  I never actually wrote anything in it, and it was way too nice to throw away in 2008, so it has been on my bookshelf for 15 years. I always like it when I see other people post online their notebooks full of collages but I never wanted to commit to gluing something in a book. This year, I am taking the plunge and collaging in the book. The nice thing is that the book is not as delicate as an actual old ledger although maybe next year...

The calendar was published by Andrews McMeel Publishing for River House Media in 2007 and was called "A Song In My Heart". The bird collages throughout were done by and artist named Greg Johnson. It was re-printed (with a different cover) in 2012 and some copies are still available on Amazon.

52 Weeks of Collage Part 2 Week 42

Another collage on  a birch wood board, this one started with some hand made marbled paper that I've had in my stash for ages. I also used some vintage ledger papers and a butterfly, keeping in the colors of the marbled paper.

52 Weeks of Collage Part 2 Week 40

This week's collage is done on birch board. I used some antique ledger paper from 1890, vintage wallpaper, and a bird that I printed on a vintage letter. The bird is printed from my hand carved linoleum block and then embellished with pen and ink.

52 Weeks of Collage Part 2 Week 16

This week, I did my collage on an 8" x 8" wood panel. A nice piece of old ledger paper, some tickets, postage stamps, and a rubber stamp were used.

52 Weeks of Collage Part 2 Week 15

This week I did another tiny collage on scrap matte board. The board is a beige color and I used scraps  of hand made papers and vintage documents.
