Here are some of my favorite covers from my collection of (mainly) children's books. They include illustrations by Alice and Martin Provensen (The Little Fat Policeman), German illustrator Janosch (The Yellow Auto Named Ferdinand), Mary Blair (I Can Fly), Ezra Jack Keats (The Snowy Day), Art Seiden (Never Pat A Bear), and Swedish illustrator Ylva Kalstrom (The Old Man and the Bird).

Awww, I love The Snowy Day! I have the same edition from my childhood. Janosch is still very popular in Germany with his cute bear and tiger friends. The tiger has a "tigerente" (tiger-duck) pull toy that is quite iconic.
The Janosch book has great illustrations - my copy is rather a sad one with water damage on the cover. I'd love to find more of his work.
